Unique vertical wall sculpture by NYC based artist Diane Cooper (1964- ), constructed from wood. The piece features a rectangular (vertical) wood form and then wood pieces are attached to the central form by the artist. It has a rich tactile surface. Fragments of wood emerge from the main structure, giving it a dynamic, almost geological presence. This work embodies Cooper’s distinctive approach to textile-based assemblage art, blending raw textures with sculptural depth for a striking contemporary statement piece.
This was one of many produced by Cooper for an exhibit at the Jean Albano Gallery. Although it looks great as a standalone piece, it makes an even greater statement when it is part of a larger grouping. Part of a series of mixed media wall sculptures that were crafted with layered fabric, wood, and found objects to create rich textures and dimensional forms. The collection showcased a spectrum of earthy and vibrant tones that give each vertical form a sculptural, almost totemic presence.
Perfect for gallery display or as a bold statement in modern interiors, these works embody Cooper’s signature blend of textile art, assemblage, and contemporary design. We have 2 of Cooper's works available. The dimensions noted in the listing are for the central body of the work. With the attached wood fragments, the dimensions can vary by up to 1.25".
