A lovely pair of large Chinese ming style horseshoe lounge chairs made by Century Furniture (labels to underside of chairs). Originally designed by James Mont these chairs epitomize his over the top dramatic mid-century modern style with a unique Asian flare. Hardwood frames finished with black lacquer (lacquer isn't terribly glossy). Accented by shiny brass embellishments. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Seats are upholstered in a spice velvet that shows some crush marks but is otherwise very good condition. Beautifully preserved from an estate on Chicago's North Shore.
