Mother and Child Marble Sculpture by Gert Olsen

Lovely sculpture by listed artist Gert Olsen.  Carved signature on base, beige marble sculpture depicting mother and child; green marble base; the sculpture can be rotated freely on the base.  There are some minor scratches but they do not take away Fromm the beauty of this piece.

Sculptor Gert Olsen was born in Denmark in 1937 and eventually immigrated to Canada and the United States, where he became a citizen.

Olsen began his creative journey as a woodcarver, exploring various materials and carving methods. After many years of creating wood sculptures, his work evolved into stone carving, a practice he has pursued for over 25 years. Today, his sculptures can be seen in galleries and private collections all over the world.
