Chinese Conch Shell shape Sancai Monochrome three colored Ceramic Brush Washer with a green Frog resting on top of the Conch Shell and drinking and swallowing brush washer water out of conch shell dish, Ca. 19th century, 2 3/4" high-maximum measurement, 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" wide. The opening of the shell is 2 3/4" x 1 3/4" wide. The Sancai glaze is beautifully spread out with few firing glaze cracks about 1/2" to 1/4" long. The frog is ready to have a swim inside the brush washer next where water was kept to wash brush inside dish. Unglazed bottom, no damages or restoration.
Has tag on the bottom from when purchased in 1960.
