Michael Taylor for Baker Far East Extendable Console Table in Oxblood Lacquer

A unique altar style console by Baker Furniture.  From Michael Taylor's Far East Collection, circa 1960.  Although many consoles with the altar table feel were sold by Baker, very few were manufactured with the capability to have it fold out and double in size.  

This console would be perfect for a small apartment of Pied-a-terre where space is at a premium.  It could serve as a console table for day to day use but expanded to serve as a dining table when necessary.  

This console was done in an oxblood lacquer - adding to its uniqueness and charm.  We have 2 x-base Billy Baldwin style stools that the original owner purchased at the same time and had reupholstered in an nubby oxblood upholstery available in a separate listing.

The top of the console has scratches to the original lacquer finish consistent with age and use, otherwise it is in good condition.  It would look amazing with the top relacquered.
