Framed Watercolor titled "Quiet Street Corner" Madison, IN by Beatrice S. Levy

Lovely muted watercolor painting by Beatrice S. Levy.  The handwritten note on the back states it was painted in Madison, IN.   It has lovely shades of browns, creams, black, gray and a touch of green.  

It is framed with a cream color mat surrounding the piece.  The paper on the back of the frame is cracking but the frame is in good condition.  

Levy studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and won a medal at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Fransisco in 1915. She was also President of the Chicago Society of Artists and supervisor for several Works Progress (WPA) projects.  Her works are on display in the Art Institute in Chicago as well as the Smithsonian.

Framed it is 28 1/4"W x 22 3/8H x 3/4" D.  The painting itself appears to be approximately 19"W X 14"H (we did not examine it outside the frame).
