Lovely pair of 1940's Thonet bentwood lounge chairs. The chairs feature bentwood arms and legs that have been lacquered in black (the arms and legs are in original condition with some imperfections - see close up images).  The chairs are heavy, solidly constructed and super comfortable.  

They were originally purchased for the lobby of a hotel in the 40's. We can see why they were used for high traffic areas. They can stand up decades of use and still look timeless. We sent these two out to be reupholstered in a performance fabric that is sold to the trade.  It's a bold shade of blue and had a nubby texture (similar to a fabric that would have been used at the time they were made).  The fabric is from HBF textiles (Merci Boucle in their Du Jour colorway). 

The black lacquer on the arms and legs is in original condition (with some loss and imperfections). 

If you'd rather a project, We have 10 additional chairs available in the original vinyl upholstery - in a separate listing.  We priced them individually.  Buy 1 or buy all 10.  They'd be great for a contract setting.
