A lovely Midcentury Chinese Coromandel Screen featuring 6 panels with amazing gilding, paintings of birds, trees and flowers. The text roughly translates to "The language of birds and the fragrance of flowers" which is a fitting description.
The back of the screen is less elaborately decorated. It is mostly black with images of iris'. There are brass caps to the feet of the screen (with patina).
There is some minimal loss to the black lacquer at the edges of the screen. It is beautiful and ready to place.
