Michael Taylor for Baker Buffet/Server

A buffet/server from the New World Collection that Michael Taylor designed for Baker. Walnut frame, gorgeous caned sliding doors and castors with brass covers at the base of it's Parsons style legs. There are 3 storage sections on the interior.  The center section has 2 drawers (one open and one sectioned) and storage below the drawers.   The section to the right is just open storage. The section to the left has one shelf (and it appears the original owners tacked a small piece of wood to the side of that section to keep the interior shelf locked in place). The back of the piece features the same lovely caning (but it is a fixed panel).  The top has 2 net panels that appear to be a black laminate.  The laminate does have light surface scratches.  It does have some scratches and imperfections (see images).

This piece could float in a space beautifully.  It is an extremely rare piece.
